Joseph Kountz, PT, DPT

Joseph Kountz was raised in Schererville, IN where he attended Lake Central High School and played basketball and baseball competitively. Growing up as an athlete, Joe experienced his fair share of minor injuries. He eventually experienced a major shoulder injury that required surgery. This led to Joe’s first encounter with the physical therapy profession. The time he spent as a physical therapy patient sparked Joe’s interest in becoming a PT. During his senior year of high school, Joe participated in Lake Central’s internship program which afforded him the opportunity to intern at a physical therapy clinic.

Joe worked as a PT technician while he attended Purdue University Calumet. Working part time as a PT tech gave him the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the physical therapy profession while pursuing his bachelor’s degree. Joe earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Fitness Management with a minor in nutrition from Purdue University in December 2015.

After graduating from Purdue, Joe continued his pursuit of becoming a physical therapist. He then attended graduate school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. He graduated in May 2020 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Joe is an active individual who loves the outdoors. He loves to travel, as well as enjoys camping trips, kayaking, hiking, fishing and participating in any other activity that gets him closer to nature.  He is also an avid golfer who takes every opportunity he can to get out on the golf course.

Eileen Kamstra, PT, MPT

Eileen Joy Kamstra grew up on a farm in Lowell, IN. She attended Illiana Christian HS in Lansing, IL. During her four years in high school she participated in JV and Varsity cheerleading. Her interest in Physical Therapy began her senior year when her father suffered a heart attack. Due to her mother having a nursing degree, her family was still able to stay afloat financially. Due to this first hand experience, Eileen researched options in the medical field for a career and Physical Therapy seemed to be the best fit for her career and family goals.

Eileen attended the University of Evansville and graduated in 1994 with her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. While at college she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

Eileen has practiced Physical Therapy in Northwest Indiana for over 20 years. She has experience in home health, skilled nursing, rehab and acute care physical therapy.  She previously worked for Great Lakes Physical Therapy and was co-owner at Alpha Physical Therapy for 5 years.  Eileen’s approach to patient care is understanding that “everyone has a story you know nothing about. As a clinician you are not treating just an injury, you are treating the whole person. Patients have many choices when it comes to physical therapy, and having patients choose us and tell others to choose us is a great reward.”

Eileen has been married to her husband Ron for over 20 years. They have three children Ben, Aaron and Olivia. When away from the clinic Eileen enjoys spending time with her family, attending the children’s athletic events, being actively involved in her church, spending time at the lake, golf, and travel.
